FLIFT America stands by the safe operation and profitability of our lift trucks, however, conducting daily pre-shift lift truck inspections assists with the longevity of both the safety and quality of FLIFT trucks.

Generally speaking, there are two main purposes for daily lift inspections:  Safety and getting ahead of maintenance issues.

Skipping daily lift inspections can lead to:

  • Death or serious injury

  • More employee sick leave

  • Larger fines

  • Large repair and replacement bills

  • Loss of productivity due to downtime

  • Shorter component and truck lifespan

  • Increased breakdowns

Invest in your lift

Invest in your lift through preventative inspections and early maintenance actions. It pays off to go beyond the minimum of monthly/quarterly inspection and maintenance.

Invest in proper training

Ensure that operators, or any other approved personnel, are properly trained in carrying out forklift inspections.

Check off confidently

Before checking off “OK” stop to consider:

  • Previous checks - Was something wrong yesterday? Did it get fixed?

  • Look for clues - Look for cracks, wall plaster (suggesting a collision), leaks, loose bolts or fixtures, etc.

Report, Report, Report

Report any issues found to the relevant supervisor. Do not operate the lift until it is cleared as safe.
